Resolutionize Your Mommy-tude, drop the frump!!

Okay, if you have missed the first two posts in the series, you can check them out here, Resolutionize your Mommy-tude: Mommy Time, Resolutionize your Mommy-tude: Attitude Adjustment.  Today we are going to cover another very important subject, getting rid of the Frump!!  What is the frump you might ask, well I will tell you.

Feeling and looking frumpy come so easily for a Stay At Home Mom.  You begin to get into a rut of "well, no one will see me anyway, so I will just wear my pj's all day".  While it is true that you and your children may be the only people who see you wear your pj's all day, it will start to effect the way you feel about yourself.

I am not suggesting that you get super dressed up every day, because we all have those days when we need to be lazy, but making a little effort will make you feel better.  Why not trade those sweat pants for a pair of jeans, a simple change, but it will make you feel better.

One thing that I have noticed is that when you start to dress that way around your house all of the time, you start to feel that it is acceptable to go out in public that way.  Guess what, it is not!!  You should not wear your pj's in public, ever!!

While you are at it, brush your hair and throw on a little makeup.  I promise you will feel better!!

I can already hear some of the excuses, I don't have the money to spend on a wardrobe, blah blah.  I have great news for you guys, the Good Will has some really great clothes at really great prices.  My local Good Will usually has a $1.00 section, and that is where I find most of my clothes.  You just have to look a little.

While you are addressing the way you dress, make sure you address your behavior as well.  I strongly suggest that you make a little time to exercise and take care of yourself.  Everyone knows that when you feel good about yourself, you act happier.  Take a few minutes every day or every other day to squeeze in some exercise.

I am by no means preaching vanity, but I do think that if you put a little effort into the way you look, you will feel good about yourself.  How you feel about yourself shows to everyone around you, especially your husband and children.  So, in order to set a good example for those children, we should teach them by example.
