Good Reads!!

I have some really great books to tell you about.

Kids Book!!
The Dream Starter Book

This is such a wonderful book. Unlike regular story books, the Dream Starter Books gives you the beginning of the story, and then lets your child make up the rest. My children loved this book. It is amazing what their little imaginations can dream up when given the chance. The Dream Starter Book has the beginning of 50 different stories in it. One of the features that makes this book so unique is that you can read the stories over and over, and your child can finish the story a different way each time. I think this is the prefect tool to get a child's imagination going, and maybe even give them an interest in writing their own stories.
Do you want one for your little one, well you are in luck. The team over at Cold Tree Publishing wants to give one lucky reader their very own copy. To enter the giveaway leave me a comment about how your little one would love a book like this.

Adult Reads:
The National Security Mom

This is great book written by a mother of five, who has 20 years of experience working with US Intelligence in national security. In this book, Gina Bennett (the author) compares the skills needed to protect and run the country with the skills parents need at home. Many of these are the same. Gina details how the values that we teach our children, and were taught as children are the same things that we need to make our country run smoothly. She also talks about having more women in government. I feel this a very important issue. More women need to be involved in politics, we need to get out there and make our voices known.
If you would like a chance to win your very own copy, leave a comment on this post.

Addicted To Stress: A Woman's 7-step Program To Reclaim Joy and Spontaneity In Life

This was a fabulous book. If you feel stressed out all of the time, then this is probably the book for you. In the book, Debbie Mandel (the author), discusses the reasons that we as women get addicted to stress, and what we can do to stop the addiction. She goes through and explains the effects that stress have on the body both physically, mentally, and emotionally. She also includes additional tips and personal stories throughout the book that I found helpful.
As a former stress addict, she wants to help all women affected by this, so she is giving one lucky reader their very own copy of her super book. To enter the giveaway simply leave a comment on this post.

The dreamstarter book sounds really nice, and would be great for my niece since she needs to work on using her imagination more and this would help. And I think the title, addicted to stress book is so me! Thanks for entering me

I'm addicted to stress. I'm sure of it. I'm on my winter holiday, with no responsibilities to speak of, no homework, no projects...and I feel like something's missing. I'm looking for something to stress out about!

These all sound very interesting. I would like to win the dreamstarter book for my six year old daughter, I think she would enjoy making up the endings and it may even encourage her to write her own stories.

My daughter would love the dreamstarter book - she has such an active imagination! And I would love to read both the addicted to stress book and the one that relates the skills needed at home to those needed to protect and run the country.

All three of these books sound wonderful - I think my top picks would be the National Security mom or the addicted to stress since my son is only 4 months old :)

I found you through the National Security Mom link (I reviewed it too), but OH - the Dreamstarter book sounds awesome! I have 3 girls and am a former teacher, and Dreamstarter sounds like something I would have loved in my classroom. Anything that fosters imagination. I imagine we'd probably choose one starter per night after dinner and go from there. Happy New Year!
