Tasty Tuesday

Classy Mac and Cheese

If you are a fellow CVSer or "Couper" (couponer) you probably have lots of Mac and Cheese around your house, we do. This a recipe my hubby and I came up with to use up some of that mac and cheese.

What you need:
1 pound of ground beef
2 cloves of garlic
1/2 cup of chopped onions
1 box of Mac and Cheese, (we used the thick and creamy kind)
6 cups of water
4 Tbsp. of butter
1/2 cup of milk
1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
2 slices Cheddar cheese
2 pieces of bread toasted

Boil the Mac and Cheese noodles in six cups of water, takes about 6 min.

While your noodles are boiling, brown the HB meat, add the chopped onion and chopped garlic. Season with salt and pepper.

When noodles are done, drain and add the 4 Tbsp. of butter, 1/2 cup of milk, and cheese packet from the mac and cheese box. Stir until mixed well. Add the 2 slices of Cheddar cheese and stir until melted.

Combine the HB mixture to the Mac and Cheese mixture. Place in a round baking dish. Sprinkle the 1/2 cup of Parmesan cheese on top. Crumble the two pieces of toasted bread up to make bread crumbs, and sprinkle on top.

Turn the oven on Broil and place the dish inside. Broil until the top is browned, and there you have it, Classy Mac and Cheese. I thought this was so good, and it did not even taste like boxed Mac and cheese.

Do you have a great recipe, leave me a comment and let me know about it. I love to try new things.
