Spring Cleaning!!

Well, with Spring right around the corner, you know what that means. It means it is time to start cleaning!! That is right, you know what I am talking about, the "dreaded" spring cleaning!!

I say dreaded, but I think I kind of look forward to it. This year I am going to focus on clearing out!! We have had a few changes in our lives recently and it has made me realize that sometimes less is better!!

At our house, there are certain things that we have to keep, for instance, clothes. I keep sizes that older children have outgrown for the younger ones. They are usually only a size or two off, but you still have to store them somewhere. In our case the attic is where we keep it.

There are however, tons of things that we can, and will, be parting with. I plan to start at one end of the house and work my way through the entire thing!! I know some of you guys probably think I am crazy, but I just know I will feel so much better once this is done!!!

Along with cleaning our belongings, I am also trying to clean up the way that we eat. I have been reading a lot lately about clean eating, and am very interested. I am slowly but surly changing the way we shop and cook. Trying to figure out how to do it on a budget, seems like it will be the most challenging part, but I am up for a challenge.

So, what are you all doing to prepare for the spring time? Do you have any special routines that you do? If so, please leave a comment and share with everyone.

Clean Closet??

Okay ladies, I have been following some really great blogs lately. One of my goals for this year is to not look so frumpy!! I have found some really great ladies with great style, and I love visiting their blogs. Today, I stumbled onto a post about closet organization, and just had to share!! Check out Jill GG's Good Life For Less, closet post here. It is awesome. I am going to work on mine this weekend and see if I can make it a little easier to navigate. In other words, GoodWill here I come with some bags for you!!

Spring Time!!

Well, I don't know about you all, but this lovely weather we have had in the South has given me a little bit of Spring Fever!! I love the Spring time, the weather is perfect, and everything is beautiful.

However, there is one little aspect that I am not that crazy about. I like to call it the "clothing transition". You know what I am talking about, when you take all of the winter stuff out and replace it with summer stuff. Everyone may not do this, but storage space is hard to come by in my home, so we have to make room.

For the past three days I have been taking the summer clothes out of the attic and washing all of them (I know that probably sounds weird, but I am a clean freak and have to wash them after they have been stored eventhough they were washed before they were stored). I have also been taking all of the winter clothes out of all the closets and dressers and replacing them with the summer items. That may not sound like much, but when you have to do it for seven people, it can take a while.

Anyway, I am almost done, and super excited about that!! Now, I can spend more time with the kids outside. They love to play on the swing set and on their bikes, and I love to sit on big beach towel in the sun and read. It really is a winning combination if you ask me.

What is your favorite thing about Spring??

Spring Cleaning!!

Like it or not, that time is quickly approaching. You know what I am talking about, spring cleaning!! Now, some may look forward to this every year, I do not. Don't get me wrong, I like a clean house and find it easier to function when everything is in it's place. However, it is all of those "other" tasks that I really don't like. For example, dusting the tops of all of the windows. Or, cleaning the very tip top of my kitchen cabinets. Or, the worst in my opinion is Cleaning the Blinds!! (Ahhhh). Anyway, event though I am not a fan, it must be done. If you could use a little help making your master plan, there is a great resource here, that will help you get an organized plan of attack planned out. It actually tells you what to do, which I think is great.

Anyway, I wanted to share it with you all, and hopefully you will find it useful. Happy cleaning!!
